Canonical Respeller

When text is typed or pasted into the left-hand window of the applet, the words in it are respelled. Puzzled? Try it out!

May require an up-to-date Java plug-in to run successfully. The applet has been tested only on Windows XP, and only with recent versions of Internet Explorer and Mozilla.

This application originated with a comment of Rich Pattis in September, 2003. He reported: " Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at an Elingsh uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer is at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae we do not raed ervey lteter by it slef but the wrod as a wlohe. Ins't taht good to kown , now we dno't hvae to wrory aobut seplilng aynomre!"

There are many ways the interior letters could be reordered. I propose alphabetical as the canonical reordering.
